If I put this in the wrong place, I apologize. Not certain how to submit a bug.
I just updated to 5.1 and pihole -c shows FTL offline.
I have looked at the code and the reason is the file /var/run/pihole-FTL.port is empty.
If you populate the file with the correct informaton, then pihole -c will work
echo 4711 > /var/run/pihole-FTL.port
pihole -c

**Expected behavior:**
The chronometer should display the blocked domains in gravity database, amount of blocked DNS requests in the 24 hours as well of informations about which domains were affected and not.
**Actual behavior:**
Chronometer thinks, that pihole-FTL is offline and all information usually provided by FTL is either `0` or blank.
**Steps to reproduce:**
- Run `pihole -up` to update to pihole-FTL 5.1
- Run `pihole -c` to view the Chronometer
**Troubleshooting undertaken, and/or other relevant information:**
The issue seems to be caused by Chronometer attempting to get the pihole-FTL API Port from the file `pihole-FTL.port`, which is no longer created starting at pihole-FTL version 5.1 ([related commit](https://github.com/pi-hole/FTL/commit/af9107a338420a592877ae350aa37b77eafb1e59)).
A similar issue exists on [PADD](https://github.com/pi-hole/PADD). pi-hole/PADD#112
Bada bing! That did the trick. 1st time it wouldnt run so I had to sudo su 1st then run the echo and that worked nicely.
Thanks
Ditto with the "sudo su" to make the edit.
Thanks everyone!

Having the same issue with docker . Updated this file file with root but no luck .
echo 4711 > /var/snap/docker/common/var-lib-docker/overlay2/5f8552d8ed105df51274e390cf1/diff/run/pihole-FTL.port
UPDATE :Clearing cache resolved the issue
Use
echo 4711 | sudo tee /var/run/pihole-FTL.port
Root is needed to write the file.
