Question: Can you block youtube adds

Does anyone know if there is a way of blocking youtube adds. Yes I know the servers are changing everyday but does anyone have a workaround on how to block youtube adds.
Because it feels like the pihole doesn't do anything when watching youtube on smartTV for example..

You cannot reliably block YT ads with Pi-hole. The ads are served from the same domains as the content.

Youtube 10-Second Black Screen

Hey, new to PiHole here and really loving it. One problem though -- there's about a 10ish-second delay at the beginning of every Youtube video, but only in Chrome. I think it has to do with the way Chrome renders pages, but I'm not sure. When I click on a video and the video page loads up, the actual video portion is black except for the controls (which don't do anything because there's no video to play). but how are vanced, adblock and that kind of software able to block all the ads including youtube ones? Isn't the logic behind those programs the same. I know youtube changes their ads servers everyday but adblock is still keeping them blocked how is that?

Isn't the logic behind those programs the same.

These operate fundamentally differently than Pi-hole. Pi-hole sees domains only, the browser based blockers can inspect html code and Javascript.
