PiHole with Virgin Hub 3

Hello, please can anyone tell me how to use PiHole with a Virgin media hub 3 ?
There is no option to set a custom DNS that I can see...

PiHole is on a pi connected via ethernet cable.
I would prefer not to use another router...

Thanks
Paul

I will say @Pauliepaul the above link isnt EXCLUSIVELY for RPi setup.

I have my Pi-hole on an LXC Container within a hypervisor environment (namely Proxmox) and the proces is the same.

The Arris router Virgin Media use is pretty restrictive in its options so this is the "best" i can do with what i have.

Also worthy of note: i found pi-hole to crash, resulting in lost internet accessability, every 6-7 days or so.

This could be due to my traffic load, running it in an LXC, or a myriad of other reasons. The simplest solution i found was to set a cron job for reboot every day in the early hours(when my household is asleep). So far ive not had further loss of access and its been about 2 months.

Thanks for the warm welcome Mr moderator !
I did search, and as that thread was over a year old thought maybe there was another solution...

The cronjob sounds an elegant solution to the pi locking up... No idea how to use one mind !

At my time of life I find learning new skills very difficult, Linux is all Greek translated into Klingon to me.

Im not aware of any other way to do it, if youre still struggling, let me know and i can post a more detailed set of instructions. The above link, however, should suffice.

Cron jobs are super easy too, nothing to be scared of
