DNS not working, high CPU, lots of DHCP requests

Expected Behaviour:

DNS resolution working

Actual Behaviour:

PiHole gets hammered by DHCP requests (my hypothesis at least), CPU gets to 100% and subsequent DNS requests are ignored

I've been using PiHole with no issues for months, but I've been facing this issue for the last days. If I do an audit of the pihole.log file, when the issue becomes present, I see it's getting hammered by DHCP requests.

On my Pi I've also installed PiVpn, and it worked perfectly fine as well. Don't know if it could be related, but I'll throw that in as well.

I've searched other threads and I found this and this, but sadly they didn't help in solving my issue.

Please let me know if I can provide you additional information that could help in solving the issue.

I don't have any additional information, other than it seems that the issue lies in whatever is hammering the Pi-hole server.
