I would strongly advise you to look at the option to put your Arris cable modem into bridge mode (search for arris cable modem bridge mode) and buy (or build) a router/firewall, such as OPNsense or pfsense (NAT capable). This obviously implies you would also need a new WIFI access point, placed behind that router/firewall.
