Expected Behaviour:
All non-blocked domains (websites) should load in all browsers.
Actual Behaviour:
Some sites are not loading in Safari (10.1), both on macOS (10.12.) and iOS(10).
These are in particular German news sites (www.spiegel.de, www.zeit.de), but also for example repubblica.it.
The browser's network tab reveals that safari does not abort resolving certain blocked domains. In case of the German news site I could identify script.ioam.de.
Any ideas on how to get these pages to load in Safari with pi hole enabled?
Running the stock lists, I do not have any issues with either of these sites. The only domain being blocked I see in your debug log (and in my own stock lists) is script.ioam.de, but I am able to load the sites even with this domain blocked.
Here's an exert from the pihole logs when accessing one of the sites with Safari:
Jul 10 21:03:22 dnsmasq[576]: query[A] script.ioam.de from 192.168.178.1

Just an endless list of this.
Some of the other tips and tricks are not really applicable, as they suggest the one or other Chrome extension. I, however, am only experiencing the described difficulties in Safari.
I'm wondering: can this be a router related thing? I'm using a FritzBox 3490.
I recall seeing solutions where an updated firmware solved some issues; I think it was due to DNS Rebind, but it might be worth checking out if a newer firmware exists and see what's in the release notes for it.
Good evening. I don't have an update for now. Have not tried anything else yet. I can report, however, that I have a FritzBox 3490. I'm thinking of returning it to the shop where I bought it and just get another router.
