Can't get pihole to update via CLI

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

EDIT: pihole -v thinks everything is fine, FWIW. Maybe it's just a confusing message from pihole -up?

pi@pi:~ $ pihole -v
  Pi-hole version is v5.6 (Latest: v5.6)
AdminLTE version is v5.8 (Latest: v5.8)
FTL version is v5.11 (Latest: v5.11)

I have a stock pihole installation except I front-end it with a proxy that punts to https. If this means it's non-standard please let me know and I'll head over to the non-standard side.

All apt packages are updated and upgraded and cleaned, there seem to be no problems here.

Expected Behaviour:

I run pihole -up --check-only via CLI and it tells me there's an update available. I run pihole -up and it doesn't throw up any red flags. I run pihole -up --check-only again and it still says there's an update available.

I'm on Pi-hole 5.6/AdminLTE 5.8/FTL 5.11 and those look like the latest to me so maybe it's the update script that's confused?

Actual Behaviour:
