It would be useful to have a scheduled website blocker to block distracting websites during particular hours. For example setting no facebook access between 9-5 with an hour for lunch.
Software to do this already exists (although less choice on Linux), and to do this fully you have to install the software on multiple devices.
Here is the discussion I read which got me thinking about pi-hole as a more complete solution :
I lost my ability to focus. I check social media and youtube frequently while doing work. If I do not do that I feel some void and feeling of losing out(I do not know how to express this).<p>How to regain my focus and avoid this trap?

This issue was already approached in a different post:
Kids spending too much time on the internet? Would be nice to be able to add their device MAC addresses to a group that blocks Internet access (maybe routes all traffic to localhost address) between the hours of 20:00 and 08:00 or whatever you set it too.
There is reasoning within that topic on what's what and how's how
I believe the last reply has a solution you might want to look into.
Thanks - I never heard of the pfSense routers before. It probably would be a good solution to the limitations of Pi-Hole.

Hi pi-hole
Firstly aplogies if I'm not doing this correctly
Title timed DNS queries
Block DNS based on time
We have broadband which is limited during the day, and unlimited at night
We currently block apple update servers all the time
Would be helpful to have a special list call it a grey or yellow list
Which would block always except for certain times
I would propose having a general time setting and allowing domains to be turned on /off on the fly
I am a developer so would be happy toβ¦
