ZTE F6107A set up for pi hole

Hi, I am no expert, I'm trying to make this pi hole work for my network but it isn't working. i cannot find a guide for ZTE much, all I do was assuming that is what have to be done but it's not working i don't know what else I have to do beside this or what i did wrong. These are what i did so far:

It would be helpful to understand your exact issue. If you can access the web interface go to tools>generate debug log and upload a debug and post the token for the devs to look at.

On a side note, you have your pihole set to dns under DHCP, which is fine, your router will advertise your pihole as a DNS server. You also have it under DNS, which in your case seems to be for your WAN. That can be changed to any other DNS provider you choose such as 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 as its for the router itself and not your lan clients.

Thank you for you response, I've generated a debug log. Here is the token: whLPVYRc.
From your suggestion about WAN DNS, I could not find a WAN config section or anything similar, could you clarify if there's another way to adjust these setting or if the set up i have is fine.

The router connects 2 different networks.

  • WAN (Wide Area Network) is the network connecting your router to the Internet Provider. Some routers may name this configuration as Internet/WAN/Provider or something similar.
  • On the other side you have your LAN (Local Area Network), which is your home network.

Your first screenshot shows the configuration for your LAN and DHCP server. The DNS in this page is correctly configured as Pi-hole.

Your second screenshot seems to be the WAN DNS settings. Usually you don't need to change the WAN DNS if you are able to configure the DHCP DNS.

What exactly is not working?

I went through site like speedtest and there are still some ads, ads not blocked :frowning:

You should verify your router's IPv6 related DNS settings as well.
In particular, you should not announce any IPv6 addresses as DNS server.

You could try to switch off your ZTE's DHCPv6 Server, as well as setting the M and O flags to Off for your RA Service, as another user has recently done on their ZTE H6645P.

Just watch the images and set it like me. If you want youtube ads and others like netflix blocked, you can't. They are also DNSes.
