With Pi-Hole enabled most merchant links on PCPartPicker no longer work

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

Expected Behaviour:

While using the website PCPartPicker.com on the page for a given computer part, there will be a list of online merchants where you can purchase the part. When you click on the logos for these merchants, it will take you to the webpage for that part on the merchant's website.

Actual Behaviour:

A web page quickly loads and then disappears as if it was blocked. This happens for the following list of vendors - OutletPC.com, SuperBiiz.com, PCMall.com, Newegg.com, BestBuy.com

However it works as its supposed to for the following vendors - NCIX.com, Amazon.com, BHPhotoVideo.com

I've tried whitelisting PCPartPicker and all of the problematic merchants listed, but that does not help.

From the debug log there doesn't appear to be any additional domains whitelisted. The only domains listed are the ones from the source lists. How are you adding in domains to the whitelist?

Sorry, I've added and removed multiple domains from the whitelist while trying to figure out this issue. The debug log was generated right before making this post, and after I had already restored my whitelist back to the way it was because adding these sites to the whitelist didn't change anything.

I added them via the whitelist page on the web interface. However it seems clear to me that wasn't the problem anyways considering I can manually go to each of these domains without any issue. So it's not as if they're being blocked.

I can re-add them and generate a new debug log if you'd like, but I don't think it will make a difference.

Looks like that site adds in an exit redirect instead of going direct to the linked site. Clicking on one of the links for a part tried to redirect me to an interstitial site shareasale, so the Pi-hole is doing as designed it looks like and blocking at the interception.

That's what I thought might be happening but I couldn't tell... Is there a way for me to make an exception on the Pi-Hole for links coming from PCPartPicker?

You'd have to whitelist the interstitial domains, since the Pi-hole doesn't handle http traffic, it doesn't know that a certain domain links to another domain.

Got it. I'll head over to the PCPartPicker forums then and see if they can help supply those domains. Thanks!

Get a redirect scrubber. Like Fix Url Links Redirect - Chrome Web Store. And select Work on All redirect links in the options. Or Skip Redirect for FF.

Would you happen to know of any extensions like these for Safari? I tried looking around but couldn't find anything for this purpose...
