Whitelist the following domain to restore functionality to Sptofiy:
spclient.wg.spotify.com

I know this is years later... but... i'm listening to spotify on my laptop and smartphone right now, through a pi-hole on a pi 2B and they seem to be playing just fine, with the occasional audio ad. pi-hole is a default installation and default list.
