WhatsApp Desktop Blocked By Pi-Hole

Hi,

I’m running Pi-Hole of the following specs:

  • Latest Pi OS x64 (Debian GNU/Linux 12, Linux 6.12.34+rpt-rpi-2712)
  • Pi-Hole (Core v6.1.4, Web v6.2.1, FTL v6.2.3)
  • Raspberry Pi 5 4Gb

I’m experiencing issues on my Windows client because WhatsApp Desktop client can’t connect, tested this by disabling Pi-Hole and it can connect.

Does anyone know which domains I need to whitelist to allow WhatsApp to work?

Thanks

James

Tail/follow the logs live with below one (or via the webGUI):

sudo pihole tail

Start WhatsApp and check in the logs which domain(s) is/are being blocked for queries coming from the MS box/IP.

There is also a FAQ:

Thanks … that solved the problem and, perhaps more importantly, told me how to deal with similar situations in future
