Web UI password.....What's the point ?

On the Web UI what's the point of the password when you have the "eye" icon right there to SHOW THE PASSWORD. No point in having it at all? I have to log in a lot now after recent updates. No more "stay logged on for 7 days". Also would love temperature back in top left hand corner instead of queries per minute. Seems like pretty useless info to me. Otherwise PiHole is GREAT !!!! Been using it for a few years now.

Use Settings > All settings > webserver > webserver.session.timeout to configure this.

Thanks

The eye icon is a toggle to show what you are typing, it's a rather common feature when the input characters are masked while you type. Instead of being frustrated when you type the wrong password and can't tell why it's wrong, you can click on the eye icon and see what characters are being typed.

The password field does not persist or automatically fill your password. You may have a password manager that is doing that but it's not Pi-hole.

Please use the search feature of this forum for the discussions relating to this documented change. Pi-hole is a DNS server and knowing how many queries being handled by the Pi-hole DNS server is vastly more important than a temperature gauge that was often wrong or outdated. If you need to monitor the temperature of your server that badly then please consider installing software that can accurately display that information.
