Videos will not play in Paramount Plus

I'm watching Paramount+ on an Amazon Fire TV or I'm trying to do so. I have the DNS of the Fire TV set to the Pi Hole. Everything is working on it except Paramount +.

I can browse all of the collections and choose an episode all the way up to actually playing it. I've added the commonly suggested items to my whitelist but it still will not allow the videos to play.

(s0.2mdn.net](https://s0.2mdn.net/),
(https://cbsinteractive.hb.omtrdc.net/), and
(https://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/)

I'm running my Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi with Unbound.

In addition to adding the above to the whitelist I've also added:

(cbsinteractive.hb.omtrdc.net)
(cws.convia.com) and
(87a6b28bc7823e67a5bb2a0a6728c702afcae78d.cws.conviva.com)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I’m not familiar with that streaming platform nor am I dev but usual troubleshooting process applies!

  1. Disable blocking and confirm that Pi-hole is actually the source of your issues

  2. Bring up a live log of just the TV device if you have access to it (specifically the live bit), otherwise refresh the logs as you try to play a video.

  3. Observe which requests are blocked, slowly whitelist as you go and see what unblocks it if at all

  4. profit?

Note that you might need a to look at your regex rules if they have a tonne video domains like google does but a rule in your system just blocks them all.

Merry Christmas :santa_claus:

go to network.... choose the tv / streaming device.....
look for any blocked domains / whitelist any blocked entries until it works

Thanks for the replies. I do have it working. I had added some adlists from Firebog's list and got too aggressive I suppose.

I ended up killing everything and starting over. The odd thing is I was able to stream on my computer but not on the Firestick.

Anyway, it looks like I can have all of the suspicious and malicious lists in there but am going to have to experiment with the advertising and tracking lists. It's still blocking quite a bit of the device metrics and tracking.
Quite surprising how much tracking it does. I think people would be surprised.
