Upgraded on old OS anyways

Just some insight,

recently my pihole5 was having issues where i would get the 403 error both on pi.hole and the ip/admin...

I tried to repair it as im running on a raspberry pi 4 with linux 10.
Ran sudo pihole -up and read the following message and silly enough i ran it.

f you are seeing this message after having run pihole -up:
sudo PIHOLE_SKIP_OS_CHECK=true pihole -r

to my surprise it upgraded
pi@pi4:~ $ pihole version
Core version is v6.0.1 (Latest: v6.0.3)
Web version is v6.0 (Latest: v6.0.1)
FTL version is v6.0.1 (Latest: v6.0.1)

the web interface looks like the new one but is still showing that it requires and update

Thoughts? should i work on rebuilding the PI os and followed by updating pihole ?

so far no real major issues

Please post a debug log url. Invoke from the command line with sudo pihole -d and upload when prompted and post the url here.

My recommendation - yes. Your Pi OS is quite out of date.

Yes, but not an update. You will need a clean Pi-hole install on the new OS, since you typically erase the uSD card for a fresh OS install. You can save your existing Pi-hole settings with the teleporter function and reimport them to the new install.

sounds good ill work on that route. thanks

It shows that because you are using v6.0.1, but the most recent version is v6.0.3.

There is no need to immediately update.

We are updating v6 to fix some issues and you will probably see that a few more times in the next days.

i ended up doing with the latest os on the pi4 and recovered the pihole settings.

sites loading are much snappier actually which was a bit surprising but welcome.
