Instable DNS resolving, Dnsmasq failure on Ubuntu client

I configured my raspberry with pi-hole as my dns server as well. And it works. But sometimes the local servernames are unknown. When I log into my pi (by ip address) the servernames are known again. Anybody an idea why this is? UPDATE: it turned out that pi-hole was not the problem. Network-manager on my Ubuntu workstation was causing the problem. Disabling dnsmasq as described in the [answer of @DL6ER] (Instable DNS resolving, Dnsmasq failure on Ubuntu client - #19 by DL6ER) solved the issue.
