Unable to Login to PiHole Web INterface - new setup

Expected Behaviour:

New install
Access pi.hole/admin
Expect to get to web interface
GitHub - RPi-Distro/pi-gen: Tool used to create the official Raspberry Pi OS images, 48efb5fc5485fafdc9de8ad481eb5c09e1182656, stage5
RPi4 Model B

Actual Behaviour:

using the password generated at the set up - failed => "Wrong Password"
Tried resetting password then blanking password all continued with same fail
Ran pihole -r and did a fresh install (it ended by saying it was the same password kept)
WEBPASSWORD shows blank currently as I blanked password and it still prevent s me
Permissions checked appear to be correct

How did you try to reset the password?

Did you execute pihole -a -p on the command line? Did you see any error messages?

I followed the instructions in the login screen for pihole that suggested using the

pihole -a -p

command
Tried setting an actual password - no errors were reported and but still says "Wrong Password"
THen set to blank - again no error and in this instance it only prompts once for the password and reports a blank password
Still unable to login in with "Wrong Password"
