Unable to block AD's on iPhone

Expected Behaviour:

Ads are expected to be blocked but ads might not be getting blocked based on logs generated.

Actual Behaviour:

Ads are still getting displayed. I had changed the dns ip to the pi-hole ip and the ads are getting blocked now. But as part of the troubleshooting I generated the logs and looks like it is still not blocking doubleclick.net based on the line [✓] doubleclick.com is 172.217.12.46 via a remote, public DNS server (8.8.8.8). Not sure how it is still able to reach 8.8.8.8

Debug Token:

[✓] Your debug token is: https://tricorder.pi-hole.net/ud960lrlqv

  • Provide the token above to the Pi-hole team for assistance at
  • https://discourse.pi-hole.net
  • Your log will self-destruct on our server after 48 hours.
  • A local copy of the debug log can be found at: /var/log/pihole_debug.log

Your debug log indicates that Pi-hole is fully operational and blocking ads.
As part of the debug script, a known ad-serving domain is send to a public DNS server (8.8.8.8) to check for network connection issues. It is expected that the domain is resolved to its IP as long as you don't block port 53 other than Pi-hole.

Where are you seeing ads on the iPhone? Specific apps or webpages?
