UK Freely TV, Unblocking Channel 5 and U Player apps

Having just bought a new UK TV which incorporates the still fairly new Freely streaming app, these are the domains I added to make the Channel 5 and U Player apps work, and is also required to make Freely system work too for the associated channels. Note that this does not block the ads within the apps, it is simply what I did from inspecting the PiHole logs to get the apps to work at all without displaying and error message when trying to play a show.

  1. Make a TV group

  2. Add your TV’s MAC addresses or IP addresses (allocate a static DHCP address) to the Default and TV groups

  3. Add the following domains to the TV group:

Needed for both Channel 5 player and U Player
fwmrm.net (as Regex allow)

For Channel 5 player
c5ads.ott.skymedia.co.uk (as Exact allow)
c5apps.channel5.com (as Exact allow)

For U Player (formerly UKTV Player)
tags.tiqcdn.com (as Exact allow)

Reboot your TV before testing.
