I lost one of my Pihole servers running on a raspberry pi this morning and I have been trying to install Pihole on a fresh install of Ubuntu. I have tried 20.4.6 LTS and 22.04. I'm not doing anything special. Just the standard curl install script. I started testing in VMs and it won't work. I've rebuilt the VMs from scratch atleast 5 times. No matter what I do I get no local DNS on the device. I tried on ARM and x86_64 with same. I can't figure out what the issue is and Its driving me crazy. I know I fixed the issue once before but it was years ago and I don't remember what I did. Can anyone provide some guidance?
of course I figure it out right after i post here.
I manually update /etc/resolv.conf with a valid dns ip address and everything started working fine.
