This link cannot be added to the Blacklist, why?

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

This address cannot be blocked or can it. The result of Pi-Hole filtering is sometimes positive, sometimes negative.

Expected Behaviour:

[This address should be blocked]

Actual Behaviour:

[I have added it to the blacklist but is isn't blocked]

Debug Token:

From your debug log:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 365 Dec 30 11:59 /etc/pihole/blacklist.txt
   112.85.42.237
   ...
   b37yog4wo22elk24i6i566zx4mbqeaqbaeaq.a.e.e5.sk

The domain in question is on your blacklist, and it was blocked by Pi-Hole when the query was A or AAAA. Pi-Hole does not filter other types of DNS queries (TXT, ANY, SOA), so that behavior is expected.

Side note - having an IP in the blacklist has no effect. If a client has an IP, it won't request resolution of that IP.

Note that the upcoming version 5.0 of Pi-hole extends blocking to all kinds of requests (some types may get useless data returned if blocked).
