Page returns ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

We do not support SSL out of the box. Use HTTP instead of HTTPS
I followed the instructions for external.conf including ssl for only my fqdn. I had this working on my pi but I moved it to Ubuntu and am not getting it to work.
It would have been good to know that at the start, is there anything else that might be useful to know?

There is nothing else. I have only changed the path to my certs and fqdn in the external.conf
What is the output of curling the page with curl -i?
