This install is very bare bones. I fired up my pi with a fresh copy of raspbian lite, I added pihole, I added some ad-blocking, I white listed my domain, everything is fine. Where things go awry is when I try to access pihole externally. The only thing I expected I should have had to do was forward port 80 on my router like I do with all my other served sites, but for whatever reason it just doesn't work when I try to access the pihole. http://[subdomain].[domain].

Interestingly, this particular block does not show up in the Query Log.

Also interesting; when I disable blocking, this address still gets blocked.

I did a google search on this and the majority of the results that made any sense were group related, but this is a nearly bone-stock install and there is no intention of setting up groups etc. I have no idea why it would block this sub-domain anyway >.<

To get ahead of some simple stuff, yes I've flushed dns and yes I've been doing full reloads of the page (ctrl+f5).

Hello and bump

Only http://pi.hole will automatically redirect to the admin page. If you use anything other than pi.hole then you'll need to go directly to http://<custom>/admin/.

This is a security feature to prevent someone external to your network being able to access the admin page.
