SIP ATA Adaptor constantly trying to reach domain 49bf?

Re: this thread, does anyone know how I can stop the device from trying to reach this non-existant domain '49bf' ? The device makes multiple 'dial out' attempts every 30 seconds!

That DNS request doesn't even look like a hostname and could only be for a local host (for lack of any dots), giving it the appearance of a configuration error on that device.

Try to identify the software on your device at 192.168.0.117 that issues those requests and adjust its configuration to stop.
If you can't configure it, stop the software altogether..
If you can't stop the software, uninstall it.

You'd have to consult your device and/or software manufacturers documentation for detailed instructions on how to achieve any of the above.

It might also be a good idea to approach your manufacturer's support for an explanation why your device is requesting resolution for such a hostname in the first place.

If nothing of the above works, pulling the plug on the device to stop those requests may be your ultimate option.
