Repeated Instances of Intermittent Packet Loss

I've gone through the installation process for my pi-hole, as well as having recently updated within the last 24 hours, and have attempted to set it up as an ethernet DHCP server. It worked properly every time for the first few hours with great connecting no matter what DNS I chose on initial setup.

My main PC, which is connected by internet to the same router, is experiencing intermittent instances of packet loss every minute or so, spiking my ping from a consistent 30ms-40ms to in the near 300s. This happens a few hours after each initial installation.

Does that mean that a remote PC is somehow connecting to your home network router via public internet?

Anyway, Pi-hole has no part in routing.
It certainly cannot prompt a general packet loss on a client.

How do you think Pi-hole would be involved in your observation of packet loss?
How do you get alerted that packet loss is actually happening?

No worries! I simply mean my PC that's connected on the same local network, sorry for the confusion. It's connected through ethernet to the same router as the pihole itself is.

These packet losses only seem to be happening when I begin using the pihole, and was simply wondering if it was something that I may have missed during the setup.

I realized in my initial post I typed connected by internet when I meant ethernet. My mistake, haha.

I see - no worries.

How do you determine your packet loss?
Would that perhaps be specific for DNS lookups?
