Previously I was using a lan.list file in my /etc/pihole folder to manage IP address to DNS names for my local network. I am wondering if this is still the right way to do this going forward, or if instead we should use the "Custom DNS" configuration on the web ui now?
I use Custom DNS for that now.
It seems like my lan.list is working for now. Just wondering if that is a hold over and it will be deprecated in favor of Custom DNS at some point. Or if the lan.list file will work for the foreseeable future.
I ask because I have a couple of PiHoles, and I keep them in sync via some scripts. Trying to see what I need to migrate away from a script process to something else.
We'll let everyone know if we decide to remove something that is currently working.
