Putting user/paswd doesn't get me into pihole web interface

The issue I am facing:

I have a very interesting issue that I have not been able to find a solution for anywhere. My pihole is working just fine, it's getting queried and everything is going through it. The issue is that although I can reach it's web interface I cannot log in and by not logging in I mean it seems to do the thing of logging in and accepting the credentials but it goes back to the initial screen for when you type https//:ip-address/admin

Details about my system:

I'n running this on a Raspberry Pi 4, the device is fully dedicated to it.

What I have changed since installing Pi-hole:

I haven't made any changes, it's default at the moment. I did however attempt to re-configure.

Couple of things you could try off the top of my head:

  • change the browser you use temporarily
  • change the web interface password via SSH or directly
  • restart the pi
  • Double check you don’t have all cookies and such blocked? I assume Pi-hole uses cookies for logging in

Turns out it was the browser. SO another broken browser. Thanks

Np. Just FYI to my knowledge all the major browsers will not do this out of the box especially not on local addresses. So either you or someone else configured it incorrectly

My experience has been pretty bad with browsers lol. Waterfox/Firefox stopped showing me letters after a week of use (Like it would show letters but they would be whited out, so I had to highlight) none of the fixes online fixed it so after re-installing and it not working I just switched to Brave, and now I have this issue it was working just fine yesterday and when I woke up today it just stopped working. So now I'm using vivaldi.

In that case I would suggest that it’s either hardware issue or someone else is installing things/modifications.

I’ve had FF installed for nearly 8 years and never had the browser suddenly bug out on me and change such a fundamental setting other than freezing on YouTube back when google made some rather malicious polyfill changes.

Practice good PC hygiene and don’t install random software or extensions + might wanna do a memory test and disk check

Thank you, my computer is pretty clean and hardware is fine. I was at a lost for a while, I know if I reinstall my OS it will fix the issue but I won't be doing that for FF.
