Pihole with OpenVpn and unbound. Connect from router not working. Please help

I setup Pihole along with OpenVpn and unbound resolver on a VPS. I followed the instructions in the excellent pi-hole guides you provided.

Connecting from phone, tablet, laptop work perfect. When connecting through router, it connects fine, then sites are timing out. Some sites work, others time out. Tailing pihole log shows the queries moving along. Changing the resolver from unbound to Quad9 works better. Some sites load, others don't.

Any help troubleshooting this would be super appreciated. Thank you.

Can you elaborate a little bit on the two different ways of connecting ?

Maybe like a "map" description ?
