Pihole + unbound on unRAID sever

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

If you are Experiencing issues with a Pi-hole install that has non-standard elements (e.g you are using nginx instead of lighttpd, or there is some other aspect of your install that is customised) - please use the Community Help category.

Expected Behaviour:

pi-hole + unbound in docker on Unraid server

Actual Behaviour:

I am looking to migrate one of my pi-holes off a raspberry pi and into a docker container on unraid. Got pihole running np, but tried adding unbound through terminal but it says can't start s6 service. Was following traditional unbound guide.

I don't mind separating containers if that's what it will take, but unsure how to get unbound working in container on unraid as it is not listed in Community Apps.

You can't install unbound inside the pihole image's container. The traditional guide is not going to work for docker.

I don't have any advice for unbound as a separate container if you don't have access to the docker command in terminal or docker-compose available.

Ah, fair enough. So for putting it in a separate container, I'm just not sure how to create the right template first. I can access terminal and docker-compose I believe.

After doing some digging, this link outlined how to setup unbound in a docker container on unraid.
