Pihole - PID file does not exist or not readable

Hey All,

I am running the latest version of pihole 6.05.

The pihole-FTL service does not always start at boot. I have to do it manually.

When I do start it manually I see the following error even though it does start:

Error:
2025-03-11 17:57:08.955 MST [444M] INFO: PID file does not exist or not readable.

I am using Pihole with Unbound installed on Ubuntu 22 in an LXC container.

Does anyone know whats causing this?

As the label indicates, that's not an error - it's purely informative.

It's also normal to observe it during restarts, e.g. after a reboot, as pihole-FTL will write its own process id to that PID file upon restart, and a process id does not exist without a pihole-FTL process.

ok thanks.
