The issue I am facing:
I need for a special software that I can resolve in my network the hostname only, without any domain-ending.
The network is segmented and routed with a firewall. Thats the reason because i cant resolve by any fritzbox or by local network himself. I need resolve the hostname by my pihole with domain (e.g. hostname.domain) and without domain (e.g. hostname).
If I go under windows 11 and type into command line nslookup hostname, then the pihole resolve the IP.
And if I go to network share and will open with "\hostname" (double backslash doesnt shows here) -> it doesnt resolve the IP and dont work.
Details about my system:
Container via Proxmox -> Debian
What I have changed since installing Pi-hole:
Entered at the local DNS list the following entrys with private IP:
hostname 192.168.1.12
hostname.local 192.168.1.12
hostname.internal 192.168.1.12
hostname.loc 192.168.1.12
I have googled more than 2 hours, but I cant find any right solution that works.
