PiHole Flapping with WebUI Navigation & DNS Resolution

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

If you are Experiencing issues with a Pi-hole install that has non-standard elements (e.g you are using nginx instead of lighttpd, or there is some other aspect of your install that is customised) - please use the Community Help category.

Expected Behaviour:

I upgraded my two PiHoles last night, the backup looks to be ok and stable, the primary required much more handholding to get it back into a reasonable state. What is happening in the primary unit goes unresponsive, where there are delays navigating between pages, or DNS resolution locks up for about 10 sec and my clients cannot access things on the Internet.

I notice that the primary CPU is higher (~25%) than the backup (~10%), and this is true when I failover to the backup to service my home network. I run keepalived for HA

These are both Running on Pi 4

I've got this issue as well.

i gave up and reloaded from scratch and restored config. that seemed easier.

seems like others are having this same issue

Did you reinstall v6, or go back to v5?
