Pihole can't resolve startpage.com

Hi,
I setup my Pihole last week on a Raspberry with Raspian and i m very lucky with it.
Unfortunately there is a issue to resolve my preferred search engine https://www.startpage.com on any Device (Arch Linux and Android) with Firefox and Chromium using Pihole (without pihole works perfectly).
I have whitelistet startpage.com and there is no filter-list who block this Domain. Trying with different DNS Servers takes no effect.
Every other Domain i have tested works fine.

My Questions are:
Can anyone access https://www.startpage.com , using pihole?
Any Idea to solve this problem?

Hi there!

Looks like startpage.com itself is resolving fine. The next step would be to tail the logs whilst loading it to look for domains that are blocked.

It may be that it loads some content from an additional domain, that is blocked. I cannot take a more detailed look right now as I am out and about on mobile...

To tail the logs, either use the command pihole -t or user the function on the web UI under the tools menu heading.

Watch for entries that start /etc/pi-hole/gravity.list

Another thing you can do is look at the query log page on the web UI, which will show you domains that have been blocked also (which you can then whitelist from the same page if neccasery).

Keep in mind, after whitelisting any domain, you need to clear the DNS cache on your client device. Clearing the browser cache doesn't hurt,either.

As you can see, my internet server does not even see the two DNS servers you set up. Have you double checked their IPs? Are they only available locally? Are you within e.g. a company net (like me) so you have to use their DNS servers instead of having the freedom to chose the ones you want (like me)?

Now i see the Problem.

means that 62.141.58.13 and 213.73.91.35 are the DNS who are requestet for Startpage.com. Right?

Thats curious because i have actually set the Google DNS server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the WebUI of pihole.

Is there anything i have to do, after changing the DNS-Servers? Rebooting the Raspberry with pihole takes no effect.

Are you already on the current version (we released an update yesterday that fixes some users not being able to change the DNS server via the web UI :slight_smile: )?

Strange... pihole -up says yes and the WebUI says no:

Are you on a non-English setup?

There was a problem with non-English setups that is also fixed with this update. Try
