Every-time I try installing Squid, my Pihole stop working.
in the log there is no more activity.
I have the same issue if fully reinstall the pi hole.
how do I fix that? do I have to add the Pi hole (80 is it?) on the squid config ACL ?
Not sure what Squid would do to disable Pi-hole. Does it install a DNS server, take over DHCP, etc?
I don't think so no, what port are used for pi hole anyway ? will try to add them to the squid config
DNS is 53, HTTP is 80
ok just basic , thank I'll try to add this in the config, hopefully will fix it
Did you get both running? If yes, how did you achieve it? And why would you want to run pi-hole and squid ? At least chaching is something pi-hole does as well.
No I never manage to have both working from what I remember.
Pi-hole only cache DNS query but Squid is caching the whole internet traffic (non dynamic) that that was a good idea but I gave up on it
Keep in mind it would only cache http traffic which a lot of the internet is moving away from. I used to run a squidbox on a pi and found it really does not cache much of what you view. Plus most of the web is dynamic or like a website I maintain is static but it runs over https.
