The issue I am facing:
I have updated to version 5.0 using unbound on raspberry pi. So far all worked well. However today I noticed problems with WhatsApp (cell phones connected to the wifi with Pihole) as well as when I entered the browser I cannot access instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp webs.
Interesting is when I do dig
dig instagram.com

there is result but when I do ping I get
ping www.instagram.com
connect: Network is unreachable
Details about my system:
Raspbian Buster
Pihole 5.0
What I have changed since installing Pi-hole:
Updated to Version 5.0
pihole -q instagram.com
Match found in https://mirror1.malwaredomains.com/files/justdomains:
contact-instagram.com
supporthelp-instagram.com
reportinstagram.com
helps-instagram.com
In addition to that I have had severe problems with accessing microsoft tools today (Outlook 365, Teams etc). For the moment I have reverted back to my traditional config (ISP based DNS). Wondering if I should format my sd card and do a complete new setup?
You can customize your pihole to work as you wish.
The pihole -q command will help you to find the blocking list/filter and you will be able to whitelist domains or disable the whole adlist if you prefer.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I have tried to work around it but no success I have to admit.
Tried to fresh install. Worked fine for some time but now back again to the topic that certain domains simply do not get found (mainly from Facebook group).
Happy to share any further data if you let me know what you would need.
