Pi-Hole & PiVPN Client Name Resolve

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

Expected Behaviour:

If Connecting with a Client through PiVPN, Pi-Hole should show the correct Client Name of the Device.

Actual Behaviour:

While Connecting through PiVPN, Pi-Hole shows me at the "Query Log" only the "Client" 10.8.0.2. The Tunneling and the Ad Blocking works perfecly, but when i have like 5 clients connecting through PiVpn i cant assign, which request came from which Device because Pi-Hole shows always the same IP.

I have already created the file "/etc/dnsmasq.d/02-pivpn.conf"
with the following content

interface=tun0

and restarted with

/etc/init.d/openvpn restart
/etc/init.d/pihole-FTL restart

Debug Token:

Does each client have their own IP address? If they are all directly querying Pi-hole for DNS, then they will show up as separate clients.

You are right, the Clients have an other IP.
For example:
my Smartphone has 10.8.0.2
my Tablet has 10.8.0.3

Is it possible to set an name for example: 10.8.0.3=Samsung Tablet

Also so that i see the Names in the Query Log and not the the IP like 10.8.0.....

You can add those names via /etc/hosts or a custom dnsmasq config in /etc/dnsmasq.d
