can I install pi-hole on a pi where I run other software or do I need to have a dedicated pi to pi-hole ?
It does not need a dedicated machine, and usually runs well with other stuff. If another application has a web interface, they might need a different port for their web service, because we require port 80.

ok, thank you for your reply, I just installed it and it is working fine...my other software on the pi are still working too.
