You mentioned Windows specifically holding records for 15 minutes instead of respecting general DNS rules and only keeping the records according to their TTL ?!
Stub Resolvers under Linux respect the TTL indeed and that’s what I meant too
People are waaaay to obsessed about rants/trolls/etc. these days…
What I am telling you is purely based on experience!
On the contrary: I've explained what can be expected from any caching DNS client, using Windows just as an example of correct, expected behaviour.
If you'd read through my post carefully again, you'd probably realise that those 15 minutes match the assumed TTL of 900 seconds in my example.
