In a few days I would be travelling out of station and I wanted to take my pi-hole with me. Since my laptop is running Windows 10 , I used hyper-v to run a dietpi vm and installed pihole. Now the main problem is I wont be taking my router with me (ofcourse!). But I have a sort of portable pocket sized router ( Technically its a hotspot maker with a mobile sim in it) which can be connected via usb to my laptop (tethering) and the laptop recognizes it as ethernet.
This router however has limited customizability. Some of them are-
- Can't put a static ip
- Can't turn DHCP on or off. It's always on.
3.Can't change DNS of the router.
Now I tried to do some stuff (complete noob here!) and somehow managed to pass host pc queries through pi-hole but ads are not bieng blocked. I only need the laptop and my phone to be blocked. Is it possible?Thanks.
