When enabled, Pi-hole resolves benign DNS requests and blocks those defined by blacklists.
When disabled, Pi-holes resolves all DNS requests.
Actual Behaviour:
When enabled, Pi-hole intermittently fails to resolve DNS requests entirely. Tailing the log shows that DNS requests are sent but not reply comes back. Every 3-5 minutes, DNS request replies come back for about a minute, then the replies stop again.
When disabled, Pi-hole resolves all DNS requests. (as expected)
Thank you for your response.
I've spent hours troubleshooting this (package updates, service restarts, ntp update, reboots, etc.) before making a post, and as soon as I enabled pi-hole again to share the pattern in the logs it somehow decided to work again without any hiccups... Sorry.
