Paramount+ broke this week :(

Hi all,

I appreciate any help anyone can provide!

I updated my PiHole earlier this week (routinely update it approx 3-4x per month) and now Paramount+ won't stream. By this I mean I get a spinning wheel for eternity. I can load the app on my apple tv/iPhone, but the movie/tv-show/whatever I pick to watch just gets the wheel or goes to a blank screen with the timestamp showing 0:00. I bypassed the pihole for `5 minutes and paramount worked. Tried whitelisting a bunch of things one by one. Only thing that worked was whitelisting "pubads.g.doubleclick.net" which defeats the whole purpose of the PiHole. Any suggestions to get this thing fixed so I don't have to whitelist ads?

If you are using dedicated devices like Roku and AppleTV's you could create a whitelist item and assign it to a group. Then have the device assigned to that group.

If it's a tablet or computer you are usually stuck with having that DNS entry white listed, thus ads in other applications like browsing. There isn't much you can do. Blocking ads is a cat and mouse game and the services own all the cheese when it comes to what is needed to stream their services.
