Opendns doesn't seem to block sites

I am using pihole on my raspberry 3 with opendns as my upstream server.
The pihole seems to do its job blocking ADs. However, it doesnt block the sites that I have defined in opendns. I can see the query in the query log, but I would expect that opends would redirect the traffic to a "special" web server saying that the site is blocked - or how is it really working? Have I misconfigured something?
Thank you

I think I found the issue with the dns leak test. My provider handles my DNS requests. How have you guys solved this?

but on the other hand, i see this line in the query log:

OK (answered by resolver1.opendns.com#53)
INSECURE

And, is that the OpenDNS server intended for personal filtering?

I found the issue on my WAN port (Unifi gateway). The DNS setting there was set to auto. I set it to use the IP address of opendns: 208.67.220.220. But I still don't understand why the queries from the client would be changed by this setting. Shouldn't the queries be directed to opendns?

Your router may forcefully redirect outbound DNS requests, like some Unified equipment has been reported to do if the Unifi router's AdBlocking features had been enabled, see e.g. Whitelisted items are still blocked! - #15 by Sawtaytoes

Yes thanks! I think that was it!
