Obtaining the admin password if ssh connection was lost during install

Expected Behaviour:

Pi-hole tells me the admin password after the installation is finished.

Actual Behaviour:

The ssh connection was lost during the installation process. I do not know the admin password. Neither the repair nor the reconfigure options let me know it. (Both were started with pihole -r)

Is there any way to extract the password without purging the whole installation and re-installing it? I am trying pi-hole out on a Raspberry Pi Model B, and I would save the time consuming installation process if possible.

PS: the admin site does not work through IP/admin URL:

Run pihole -a -p and set a new password.
