Not sure to put this here. UKTV being blocked. Howto Fix?

One of the blacklists is blocking uktv from playing shows.

My pihole has logging completely disabled so cannot puruse the logs to see what the entry might be, but searching through this advertisers list in pihole, I came across three uktv entries and I think it may be this one.

How can I remove what I think is that single entry from my blacklist, that may be doing this blocking?

Thank you.

The only one that can remove a domain from the list is the list maintainer.
Please open an issue here to let the maintainer know the list contains false positives: GitHub · Where software is built.

Alternatively, you can create an entry using Pi-hole web interface Domains page. Add the domain as an allowed domain:

  • type the domain on the text field;
  • click on the green button to allow it.

I was looking at pihole log file and did not see uktv at all being listed.

I saw brightcove and dpmething else being blocked by pihole, but when I added both of them as an allow wildcard, uktv still didnt work.

If there is anyone in UK that knows pihole, could they please try to stream one of these shows

and figure out what to do in pihole to allow streaming to work?

Oh, just tried this on my phone with phone on wifi, and this works.

It must be something to do with my TV vidaa U app and pihole then :frowning:
On my TV, I am getting a error code UKTV-02-G000 but if I change my TV DNS away from pihole to 8.8.8.8, I can watch streams without issue.

Testing UK channel5 app on same TV also has an issue. Error:VJS-2999.

Its beginning to look like I will have to remove pihole altogether :frowning:

Thank you.

U channels and Channel5 stream normally here but then I am using a different choice of domain lists. You can either work with your existing choice and try to find the domain blocking streaming or look at using a different list.

Do you have a URL for your list? Maybe I can use that too.

Thank you.

you mean instead of not also.

That seems like an extreme measure. You can always place your tv in a separate group, and setup specific blocking settings for that group, or give it full access. Alternately, you could determine the specific domains being blocked and add them to an allow list.
