I need some help. new to pihole and very basic linux user here.
i setup Pihole 2-3 weeks ago. everything works as expected. Today i had outage and thought was my ISP. Finally able to isolate down to Pihole. Pihole device cant access or reach anything on the internet. tried both dns and IP addresses but able to reach my gateway.
router is RT-AX86U on merlin firmware. i disabled filtering and DNS to restore internet.
Pihole is runing on Centos 8

any ideas?

Please upload a debug log and post just the token that is generated after the log is uploaded by running the following command from the Pi-hole host terminal:

pihole -d

or do it through the Web interface:

Tools > Generate Debug Log

Thanks for quick reply. I was able to figure out the issue. its with wireguard. i forgot to mention that i attempted to install wireguard which didnt go well. i removed it after i open this thread and that seem to resloved the issue.
is there a good guide on how to install wireguard on system already running pihole on CentOS 8?

i will try again this week. is there a benefit running VPN on Pihole device versus my router?. I can get ipsec vpn or openvpn running on my router. when on VPN i notice filtering not working properly as connected on my network.

seem like the original issue still there. i re-installed everything again on ubuntu 18.04. everyday i have to restart pihole and my router to restore internet. sometimes restart dns fixes it. it hasnt gone longer than 24hrs without cuting off the internet. when this happens, pihole box itself cant reach the internet.

should i upload logs again for someone to look at it? right now i bypass pihole until i can reslove this.
