Message display: Blocked or filtered by Pi-hole

Hi folks, sorry if there might be a double post but checking several requests I didn't find any similar.
My question or feature request is:

Is/will it be possible in the future that Pi hole (on demand - maybe via check box) replies a short info like: "page blocked or filtered by pi hole" ?

Reason behind: I do not really see, if a complete page (or even single blocked advertising elements) are blocked by pi hole or just (temporary) not available due to a internet line interrupt or still not existing anymore - ok - then I might get a 404 error after a while (I think) - But if it is blocked by pi hole, then it's just blocked without any notice. So, sometimes it's good to know if something is blocked ore not if you are not aware about a page and don't know if information are missing or not.
So far, I can only crosscheck the protocol when I lock into pi-hole if I'm unsure and move the address to the whitelist if necessary or disable pi-hole for several minutes to see if the page was blocked by pi hole or simply not existing anymore or regulated by other filters like "ublock" or "ad aware".

It would be great if Pi hole can just repead a message on each element like i.e. "blocked by pi hole". Similar to a browser message, when a picture is not available.

Cheers, Dicki

Pi-hole is a DNS filtering proxy.
It is answering DNS queries, resolving a domain name into an IP address only if that name is not on any of your configured blocking lists.

As such, it is totally oblivious of why your clients would issue such a request. In particular, Pi-hole is completely unaware of concepts like browsers, web sites.or page elements.

You are asking to see information that is simply not there, since client-side information is not available on server-side Pi-hole (click for more)

Let's assume a web site you are calling up in your favourite browser is trying to show a dozen ad pics from a domain that is blocked by Pi-hole, e.g.
www.doubleclick.com.

All that Pi-hole is going to see is one DNS request for www.doubleclick.com, while your browser is going to fail accessing all 12 pictures.

That doesn't mean you are out of luck when trying to determine why acess to some sites you like seems to be broken.

You can use Pi-hole's various filtered variants of its Query Log for in-depth ex-post analysis of requests as well as Tools | Tail pihole.log for a more technical live view of what's happening on your network DNS-wise.
The following FAQ post has all the details:

If what you want is a page that comes up when a web domain is blocked, this is one of the options in Pi-Hole (blocking mode). Note this only works for http pages, not https.

https://docs.pi-hole.net/ftldns/blockingmode/

If you want a notice or warning when a particular element on a page is blocked, Pi-Hole cannot do that.
