Hello,
the issue has been called numerous times, but in the sheer number of resolves and answers I have so far not found a resolution for it.
I have:
- installed Pi-Hole on Raspberry Pi
- fixed IP for Pi-Hole and changed the Primary DNS server to this IP Adress (leaving secondary DNS server blank).
- DHCP enabled on Pi-Hole and disabled on my Dlink 850L router
- On the Dlink Router, set IPv6 settings to Local Activity Only (there seems to be no way to completely disable IPv6. Other options are: Auto Detection, Static IPv6, Auto Configuration, PPPoE, IPV4 in IPV6 Tunnel, 6to4, 6rd).
It works awesome on my laptop. I use www.cyclingnews.com as a testcase. Both in Firefox and Chrome no ads. I have NordVPN on.
On my android phone (Sony Xperia Z, Android version 9), also with NordVPN enabled, i still get the ads (most on Chrome, relatively few when using Brave). When i check the network details, the phone gives the correct DNS server adress. However, it also states it has a IPv6 adress (which I can't seem to disable).
Checking the Pihole Web interface, it shows the phone connected as a client, and actively blocking request. Which suggests that it blocks some, but not all, ads (and somehow less ads then on the PC).
If you would be so kind to share your thoughts on solving this, that would be awesome!
best regards,
Expected Behaviour:
- not showing ads on chrome/brave on Sony Xperia Z with Android 9 running.
- no IPv6 adresses within my LAN.
Actual Behaviour:
- Ads are shown when visiting websites;
- Phone both has a IPv4 and IPv6 adress.
Debug Token:
I must do something wrong, but where is this token supposed to show up? I ran the debug script through the webinterface, checked the box, but can't seem to find any token-code...
