hello, just installed pi-hole.
i am trying to assign my node-red dashboard ui's address to a local dns so it can be reached more easy on the local network.
the address structure is "ip:port/ui" but it will not allow me to bind it to "nodered.gui" for example, it allows only the host ip. if i bind only the host ip, the "nodered.gui" site gets blocked even if i whitelist it.
the pihole runs off the same rpi as nodered if that counts, i flushed the dns cache everywhere and restarted everything.
is there a possibility to assign the dns in that form? (ip:port/ui)
is there a possibility to truly whitelist it?
why the blocking if a whitelist rule is created for the EXACT same name?
very frustrating,
thank you kindly for your answer
No. DNS doesn't care about ports and URLs.
