Hi, I could be wrong but before i swap to another alternative due lack of support. I wanted to ask why does pihole change IP to 5a.... long ip made of numbers and letters?
Are you referring to your Pi-hole machine's IP addresses?
Pi-hole does not change the network configuration of the machine that's hosting it.
each time when I had it installed, each machine at home mobile/pc/laptops had IP assigned as 5abaac..... etc
It's not clear what you are referring to?
Perhaps client IP addresses as observed in Pi-hole's dashboard?
Could you provide a screenshot?
This doesn't look like an IP.
There are 2 types of IP:
- IPv4:
192.168.0.1
,10.0.10.25
(4 numbers between 0-255 separated by dots); - IPv6:
2001:0db8:85a3:08d3:1319:8a2e:0370:7344
(8 groups of 4 hexadecimal digits, separated by colons).
Maybe you are talking about the MAC Address of your machine.
Where are you seeing these addresses?
