Expected Behaviour:
When setting my router DNS settings with my IP address of my Pi-Hole , I wish to have ads blocked for all devices on my network and not have to config each device manually
Actual Behaviour:
Pi-Hole only works when I manually set each device even though I can see my queries getting counted. Just no blocks unless I manually set DNS on my PC.
I have verified several times that the DNS on router is set to proer IP of my Pi-Hole device. I would really like to have it auto set from router as I have many devices and devices that I can't change DNS Info for.
Debug Token:
I ran the dubug from web UI and I can't find the token for the life of me. I am sorry.
Could you advise where I can get the token code after running the debug tool.
An update on my troubleshooting. When I manually config my PC to use pi-hole DNS the blocked query counter goes up but I can't actually browse to site. Sites never load
Not sure what I am doing wrong and I could really use some help! Thanks!
Pi-Hole Works as expected only if I set my DNS settings on router to be anything but Pi-Hole IP address.
So I am using 1.1.1.1 on router and PI-Hole IP manually for my DNS on PC.
I can get it working. Just wish I was able to get the setting on my router to work. Is anyone willing to provide some advice?
When you generate a debug log, you are asked if you want to upload it. Answer Yes, and after the log uploads you will get a token back. The token allows the developers to find your anonymous log on the server.
This may be difficult, as you have not provided the make/model of your router. Note that even with this, on a Pi-Hole forum you may not find a user who has experience with that equipment.
